Peña del Olivar Recreational Area

The Peña del Olivar recreational area has long been highly popular among the inhabitants of Siles owing to the luxuriant vegetation that wards off the summer heat. Many people come here to swim in the cool water of the natural swimming-hole built on the opposite side of the road, in the Barranco de los Tejos stream. The recreational area is equipped with a fountain, a bar with a dining room, barbeques and a children’s playground. There is also a surprising botanical collection in a small, pleasant garden, with more than one hundred species of plants found in the Nature Park, some of which are rare endemisms of great ecological importance.

The area is quite strategic as a starting point for several itineraries, including the drive to the stunning Las Acebas area and hiking trails around the Buecentaina mountain, as well as the circular PR-A 175 itinerary signposted at the Recreational Area.

After a 2 km drive on the Siles to Las Acebeas road (JF-7012).
